WHY DO WOMEN CELEBRATE ROSH CHODESH?

There is a tradition that women's faithfulness in refusing to contribute jewelry to making the Golden Calf was rewarded by giving women this holiday. However, the cycles of the months which follow the moon waxing and waning are also cycles that are embodied for women who experience monthly cycles during their child bearing years. Each cycle can bring renewal and opportunities for re committing to our deepest selves. We join together each month to study, reflect and carry with us various topics in Judaism and in everyday life as women.
