"Dirshuni: When She Gets to Tell the Story" - join us for another amazing year of Nashim learning! A fascinating, and energizing exploration into Remarkable Jewish Women, this year focused on the Midrash.
Midrash is the Jewish tradition of interpreting and expanding upon the stories of the Torah, and for centuries, these interpretations have primarily been shaped by male voices. In Dirshuni, modern Israeli women bring their perspectives to this ancient art, adding fresh insights, emotions, and questions.
This class will explore midrash and how hearing these new voices—women’s voices—adds powerful new dimensions to the stories we thought we knew. Come join us as we listen to her side of the story, discovering midrashim that resonate with the fullness of our experience today.
The book around which the class will center, Dirshuni by Tamar Biala, is not required, but if you would like to purchase a copy for yourself to make notes, some participants may wish to do so.
NOTE: There is no fee for this class but donations are welcome!
