Join a Shir Hadash 8-day Volunteer & Explore Trip to Israel! Our amazing rabbinic team has secured a grant-funded volunteering and exploring opportunity for a Shir Hadash delegation.

Roll up your sleeves and tap into Israel’s national volunteering drive while the needs are greatest. Together with our Shir Hadash group and other volunteers from around the country, you’ll lend a hand in areas that may include agricultural support, community re-building, and packing/distribution. Beyond 4-6 hours a day of volunteering (Sunday-Thursday), you’ll connect with Israeli peers, gain a first-hand understanding of post-October 7th Israel, and enjoy self-exploration time.

Trip participants are provided with furnished accommodations, educational travel & social programming, staff support, local medical insurance, airfare subsidies, and some meals. More details.

The Fine Print:

• Dates: July 8th to July 16th, 2025.
• Cost: $600 total (this INCLUDES airfare, lodging and two meals per day, plus our activities through Birthright’s Volunteer Israel program).
• Some additional meal expenses and travel insurance should be expected when budgeting for the trip. In addition, the trip leaves from Los Angeles Airport, and getting to LA is an expense participants are responsible for.
• Attendees must be aged 26 to 50 only.

We need to assess your interest in the next few days, which we know is an intensely quick turnaround (we might have a few more days for people to join still after that, but we need to gather an initial group swiftly!).

In addition to Shir Hadash staff Kristin Johnson leading/coordinating our group on this volunteer trip, Rabbi Michael will also be attending this trip as part of our group. This trip will be a lovely capstone moment as his role as a formal Shir Hadash clergy member concludes.
