An Intention for Election Day
11/05/2024 07:22:12 AM
Dear Shir Hadash,
As we enter this Election Day and celebration of democracy, let us acknowledge the fear and anxiety many of us are feeling. The stakes are indeed high, and the outcome matters deeply. And yet, regardless of what happens, we must appeal to our higher selves. We must stay committed to the ongoing work of strengthening our democracy and healing our painfully divided nation.
Let us bridge our differences with grace, and let us choose our words with care, knowing that our politicians reflect the people they represent—us! Through our behavior and choices, we can shape the change we wish to see in the world.
May we set a higher standard in our discourse, one that honors our values and lifts the spirit of our nation. Let us speak a language of moral clarity, compassion, and kindness. Let us work to elevate solidarity, mutual respect, and safety. Let us pray for and enact the world we wish to see—one built on democratic values, shared responsibility, and collective hope.
