THANK YOU to the volunteers and staff whose hard work led to an incredibly festive, joyous, delicious, successful and meaningful Shavuot Festival enjoyed by over 150 people of all ages.
We are grateful to our event sponsors: Orla Colgan, Heidi Eisips, and Linda Wolf.
From our cheesecake-making bakers (led by Mitchell Wunsh!) whose flavorful cheesecakes delighted during dessert time, to our teen volunteers who led wheat weaving, a scavenger hunt, flower crown making, coloring, butter churning, face painting, and storytime - this event wouldn't have been possible without our fabulous community stepping up to make the festivities fall into place.
Warm sunshine and flower crowns all around helped us welcome summer together in festive Shavuot style.
Weaving wheat, giving of the first fruits, face painting, coloring, popcorn, and very-popular butter churning, were a joy for our tots, children, and youth.
Our amazing food for Shavuot included: specialty gourmet savory crepes, multiple flavors of cheesecake, fresh fruit, plus platters of delectable appetizers and refreshing beer at the beer garden, and not just one, but TWO chocolate fountains - the deliciousness was a highlight of our Shavuot evening!
What a special celebration with meaningful song and prayer at our packed service out on the patio. Special moments abounded, including blessing the children and reading the ten commandments! The video recording of the Shavuot Service is available online.
Our visiting scholar, Rabbi Dalia Marx, PhD, led an engaging analysis of the Book of Ruth. What a blessing to share such a beautiful Shavuot holiday together.
