Rabbi Nico Socolovsky and Robert Friedberg presented a clinical roundtable at the 58th annual conference of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) in Philadelphia, PA on Sunday Nov. 17. ABCT is the largest annual meeting of national and international academic scholars and clinicians who work with cognitive behavioral therapies.
In addition to Rabbi Socolovsky and Dr. Friedberg, three other clinician scientists from NYU school of Medicine, Northwell Health in Long Island, and private practice participated in the panel discussion entitled "Addressing emotional distress in Jewish American Youth: What adaptations are necessary to avoid a one-size fits all approach?"
The discussion was far-ranging including cultural vicissitudes, theoretical foundations, practical recommendations for practice and advocacy, future research directions, and personal accounts. Well over 50 attendees including doctoral students, junior and senior faculty, seasoned and new researchers, as well as beginning and experienced clinicians participated in the discussion. Not surprisingly at the end of the roundtable, the panelists and audience agreed that Rabbi Nico emerged as the STAR OF SHOW!!!
