If you don’t want your email address or phone number made public, please indicate this when you submit your posting. All responses to your posting can go through the Job Board moderators to preserve your privacy.

The following resources have been identified as free or low cost options to help members who are looking for employment or need to job search training. We welcome the opportunity to post additional resources, so please forward the information to this board.

Organizations

  • Small Business Loan Program of the Jewish Family and Children's Services exists to help members of our community get a start in life, enabling them to pursue entrepreneurial endeavors of their own choosing. They are here to help you cultivate your vision and actualize your dream.   • Jewish Vocational Services provides one on one counseling, regular workshops, and a private list of job openings. All services are free, but are provided in Palo Alto, as this is a service of the San Francisco Jewish Federation.

  • ProMatch, in Sunnyvale provides a comprehensive seven month training program for Silicon Valley job seekers. Sponsored by the CA EDD, there are no fees associated with ProMatch.

  • Work2Future, in San Jose, provides similar services as ProMatch. Sponsored by the CA EDD, there are no fees.

  • CSix, is a completely volunteer organization that has been helping job seekers in the Silicon Valley for over 20 years. They meet weekly in Saratoga, and provide excellent speakers and networking opportunities. Cost is $10/meeting to cover lunch.

Other Job Boards

We have found that these job boards cater to a smaller following and a higher number of actual positions.

  • Kol Emeth – Run by Congregation Kol Emeth in Palo Alto, has many jobs never posted on other boards. It is a Yahoo group: ke-jobs. After you reach this site, click on the "join group" button at the top right of the page.

  • Career Action Ministries – Run by Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, they have very rigid posting guidelines. Great listings, but you will get updates on church events.

Other Websites

We have found these websites have valuable free materials that are of use to job seekers.

  • 50 Plus Career Coach – This is a website run by Camille Grabowksi, a professional career coach, who specializes in working with older workers. While the purpose it to generate business for Camille, there is a great deal of free information on the site. Camille is a nationally recognized expert in the field.
