This class (jointly sponsored with the JCC) will study some of the major biblical narratives through both text and the visual arts, tracing their possible origins in ancient Near-Eastern mythologies and customs, comparing how artists from different traditions depicted these stories in different ways throughout the ages.

Yael Karmi is a graduate of Tel Aviv University, with an M.A. in Art History from San Jose State University. She teaches Jewish Art and Old Testament Art at De Anza and Evergreen Valley Colleges.

Reservations are required.

Fees: Shir Hadash and JCC members, $75. Non members, $100.
